MRI Data

You are viewing the documentation for classic ASHS

For new projects we recommend HyperASHS, which produces isotropic-resolution segmentations of the same structures and is available in the cloud through ITK-SNAP as well as locally.

MRI Data

ASHS atlases are trained on MRI scans acquired with a particular protocol, and they work best on scans that look similar. Before running ASHS, check that your data meet the requirements of the atlas you plan to use:

  • ASHS-PMC Atlas Requirements: T2-weighted MRI (about 0.4 × 0.4 × 2.0 mm³) plus whole-brain T1-weighted MRI, for hippocampal subfields and MTL cortical subregions.
  • ASHS-PMC-T1 Atlas Requirements: whole-brain T1-weighted MRI only, for anterior/posterior hippocampus and MTL cortical subregions.

The ADNI3 Data page describes how to obtain high-resolution T2-weighted MTL scans and ASHS-derived measures from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.

See the equivalent page for HyperASHS.
